The Municipal Corporation of Delhi calculates its property tax using the 'Unit Area System' throughout the city, like if you are buying property DLF One Midtown located in Moti Nagar, New Delhi then the property tax will be different for the area and property than to what located in other location of Delhi. The formula used to calculate the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's property tax is as follows:

  • Each year, MCD publishes the rate of tax on categories differentiating tax on residential, commercial and industrial property. A list of the applicable rates is available on the MCD's property tax website.

Delhi House Tax Can Be Paid Offline

Delhi has more than 800 strategically placed ITZ cash counters all over the city if you don't want to pay the property tax online. Once your offline payment has been received, you will receive an instant receipt that includes your property tax ID. Please use this ID every time you pay your taxes in the future.

In addition, if you are unable to remember or do not use your previously assigned ID, the system will issue a new one, which will likely cause a host of new problems for you during future tax payments, and may even result in punitive action.
